Cork County Council has introduced an ‘Adopt a Road’ Scheme, which involves a Business or Voluntary/Community group adopting a designated stretch of road, for the primary purpose of removing litter from the roadside verges.
The Adopt A Road scheme provides an avenue for organisations, community groups and businesses to help maintain sections of roadside within County Cork’s road network with the support of the local authority.
The scheme benefits all parties by reducing litter and cleaner roadsides. It advertises the efforts of the participating Business or Group and, also promotes civic responsibility, community pride and sociability.
Any DOUGLAS organisations, community groups and businesses interested in participating Adopt A Road Scheme should contact Douglas Tidy Towns or Cork County Council’s Carrigaline Engineer’s Office 021-4371800.
