Over the last number of years Douglas Tidy Towns has been working to enhance the biodiversity in the Douglas area. One key step has been the development of a Biodiversity Plan for Ballybrack Wood (The Mangala). We are delighted that this plan has now been completed and can be viewed here:

Much of this work is being carried out by the SECAD Wild Work team. They also produced some videos highlighting the progress being made in the Mangala:
While actions from this plan are already underway, we have also started working on the next stage – a Biodiversity Plan for the whole Douglas area thanks to funding from the Community Foundation for Ireland and Cork City Council. This plan will be published next year but look out for community events in relation to it during the course of this year.
