Old Carrigaline Road Clean-Up

Last Saturday we did a clean-up of the very windy and dangerous Old Carrigaline Rd. Thankfully the Gardai had provided us with traffic cones! We also noticed a very bad dumping area in the vicinity and brought this to the attention of the County Council.

National Tree Week

As part of National Tree week we planted a number of oak and ash trees in the Douglas Woods/Mangala. The trees were kindly given to us by the Cork Environmental Forum.

The weekly litter pick took also place as usual. Among the many areas cleaned were the Rochestown Road, Churchyard Lane, (South) Douglas Road, Douglas East and Church Road.

Street Art in the Park

The electricity box in the Douglas Community Park got a new look on Sunday and Monday morning. Thanks to everyone who gave a hand, supplied tea & coffee etc. Lots of passersby commented favourably on it.

Tackling the Lion

Today, Bogdan and Kevin raised and cleaned the Lions Club sign at the entrance to Douglas village. Well done, boys!

Our weekly litter pick also took place as usual.

Scouts to the rescue

On Saturday February 11, the 74th Frankfield-Grange scouts turned out in large numbers to give their support to Douglas Tidy Towns. Armed with large refuse bags, an enthusiastic group headed straight for Douglas Woods. An hour and a half later they returned with many full bags, some tyres and even an old car door. We are extremely grateful for their help and wish to thank everyone involved.
