Faux windows

Kevin and Connie came back and finished the job they started last week. They painted faux windows and doors on the boarded up cottages. Again, well done boys!

Ballinlough clean-up (proudly supported by Douglas Tidy Towns)

We were very happy to see a great number of people turn up for todays clean-up of the Japanese Gardens in Ballinlough. Roads and paths were cleaned and many bags of rubbish filled. All in all, a  great show of community spirit.

Douglas Tidy Towns were very happy to support this clean-up by providing pickers and we are looking forward to a continuing co-operation with the Ballinlough Committee.

Fundraising event: what a great night we had

Just a very quick ‘Thank You’ to everyone who came to our fundraising event yesterday. I think everyone enjoyed the fantastic music. Thanks go also to all the businesses who provided raffle prizes and to everyone who got involved in organising this evening. We will have a more detailed report (photos etc.) about the evening in a separate post.
And I think we can release Marian from Tidy Towns services for the rest of the year.

The trash screen in the Mangala …

… was cleared today. Big thanks to the County Council for their fast response to our call.

The old cottages in Douglas West …

… got some freshly painted windows last Saturday. Well done Kevin and Connie!

The other volunteers were out in force as well, mainly doing litter-picks around the village.
